It is very funny really. The 3-wheel car was a British phenomenon. It seems back in the fourties or fifties they first required drivers tests to drive a car. But the law only applied to four wheel vehicles. Certain people were too--whatever--to take a test so they opted for a three-wheel car (forget the name) which was very chancy on turns. I think you were looking for 35 mph top speed in any case. |

I think you'll find that in post-war Britain, metal was still pricey/scarce, which was one reason behind the (early) 3-wheelers. Economic state of the country might have been another. |
