Possible 95 and Up Carpet; Need someone near Anniston AL

I got back to the guy making carpets for Metros and per his email he can make them for 95 and up cars if "a car in the Anniston, AL area that could be used for a few days to make a fiberglass mold or a donor floor pan..."

Let me know if there is anyone who can do this and is interested in creating a supplier for something we can't get anywhere except, apparently, Russia.

Thanks,
Jon

I have the carpet out of a 1996 base hatchback I could send, but don't need a new one anymore. It's not what you asked for but if it could be helpful let me know.

He needs the actual floorboard, so that won't work unfortunately.

According to one of our AZ members the sedan carpet will work in a hatch, just the holes for the seat rails are different. Since this company isn't cutting those holes anyway, that shouldn't be a problem. I will double check on the fitment with the other member and let you know if it sounds like a good idea.

Just to be clear, you don't have a problem stripping out your interior and allowing someone else to keep your car for a few days while they slather fiberglass all over it?

Well, that's not a good sales pitch. :lol

Better to be clear than to have unwelcome surprises.

It would have a release compound on it wouldnt it? It would have to be removed from the car to work. If its removed from the car Id be willing to possibly try it. Would I get a carpet out of it? Lol

I would assume a release agent, but wouldn't assume the greatest care would be taken. Expect the worst and hope for the best and you won't be disappointed. It's unlikely they will give any freebies, based on what I've heard from him. It would make him the only supplier that we know of. Never know, if sales go well we might get a discount or something.

If he wants to come get the body tub of the 95, he can have it for free, just need to finish removing a few things.

I will see what he says about that. Will you provide a title so he can dispose of it without any issues?

I'll also double check what condition they expect to return the car in. It appears the sedan carpet is the same except for the seat belt hole, so either car should work perfectly as well as one carpet fills the need.

Thanks.

I have a title and bill of sale. Neither me nor the previous owner got it registered or titled in our names. Its a parts car so didnt bother. All anyone has to do is sign the title and bill of sale and its theirs. Its free if he wants it but has to come get it.
