Not KYBs or MONROEs....but really cheap. I know the kyb rebate is up.

Has anyone used these? I have a feeling they are probably the same thing as the name brands. I think some people get to strung up on the name making it good. These have to be significantly better than factory ones that are 20 years old.

Looks like a good deal, if they are indeed good. (What did he just say? :lol ) Like you said, anything has to be better than worn out ones.

The brand is AST or Advanced Strut Technology. Googling reviews. So far they don't seem too bad. Mostly racer forums where most reviews are very good. Some people mention having to get them rebuilt or something breaking but these are the ones that push their cars to the limit.

They make some higher performance coil overs and all that fancy stuff.

Turbo3 and Twincam Tweaker

when it was time for me to replace the struts on my wife's old aveo5 i bought a set of ast struts. they were inexpensive and they were better than the clapped out factory struts - but they were by no means in a "performance" class.

i have run everything on metros, gabriel, monroe, koni, etc and the best struts for these cars, imho, are kyb gr2 or the new replacements for the gr2, the excel g.

pay the money for the kyb struts and roll on. ;)

Is it really worth about double though? I've already decided to buy the cheaper ones. Either that or wait till kyb has their shock/strut deal again next spring.

Man I hate being a cheap ass.

Please just call me; "Schultz"

I prefer the Monroe "Sensatrak"
They are not the highest , nor the lowest priced.
They have given me good performance over the years and on the heavier cars I own (ie: VW Jetta, Toyota Avalon, Ford Focus) they seem to make the ride better.
