So I found a complete donor car here for $600 obo.....https://wilmington.craigslist.org/cto/5597236326.html I really need tires, so if it has good tires, it will be a huge plus. I would upgrade the hubs/brakes/wheels and tires and put that all on my 94. I would use my manual trans from the 94, and put the 1.3(97 obd2), wiring and computer in the 94. Anything I need to look for. I see some swaps, but haven't noticed too much about the wiring on them. Any help will be appreciated. Probably worth it to just look for a 96+ 4/5, but those are hard to find. Plus, this would be a pretty cheap swap and give me more power which is what I really want. |

On paper there is a big difference between the 1.0 and the 1.3. I drive both, and it's not that much real world difference. The 1.3 is longer, so you'll need 4 cylinder Swift trans mounts and axles, I think. If you need more power, spend the $1000 this swap will cost on a rebuilt engine or a turbo. Or find a Swift with a 4 cylinder and 5 speed, and sell the Metro. http://richmond.craigslist.org/cto/5583835094.html |

This. It's not worth the headache, unless you're hard-core and getting something special out of it. Buy a 4 banger, sell the 3. Or if power is what you need, buy something else entirely. A mid 90's Civic HX will get you 40mpg no problem, and be a lot perkier. |

Don - i saw that. I like it but the car is more than just the swap. I would be upgrading shocks brakes, getting better wheels with tires. Desperately need tires. Im assuming I can get it for $400 or so. Stubby. Trust me ive been looking for an hx. Most have engine swaps, are slopped out, or the seller just doesn't respond. I'd love an hx. Id say an hx if im lucky will be 1500. Again im looking for a nicer one. My current metro is running rough. Makes some bad noises. Due to inspections, bald tires and cheap gas, I'd maybe get 500.... Figure if I get that 4cyl for $400, hopefully sell the trans and my 3cyl snd have closer to $200 in it. Not including labor. |

Add another hundred for axles and trans mounts, unless you can find a swift at a pick-n-save. All of the 1.3L engines use the same block, so you're basically doing a GT engine swap without the GT head. If you were closer, I'd be interested in the leftover parts. |

Well someone rear ended me about 20 mins ago so it looks like no swap will happen. |
