My '95 hatch is a rally car and I was curious if there are any better parts I could swap in that might hold up to more abuse than normal. I just got the car but it's been a rally car for about 15 years and I'm planning on throwing more HP into it over the winter. Thanks all! |

There are lots of ways you can "beef" it up. Although that's a pretty generic request, I assume you are just talking about the suspension here are a few that come to mind. Box weld the control arms. Modify the front control arms to have replaceable ball joints. (I don't know if the model you have already has these and I know some aftermarket ones come that way by default. But I'd consider it highly if you don't since you are rallying.) Put poly bushings everywhere. Upper Strut Brace Under Body Frame Brace Rear Strut Brace Spot weld the weak unibody. Sport/Stronger Springs Bigger Sway bars. KYB Struts or something fancy if you have $$$. These aren't in any particular order or anything and may not be the best for Rally I have no experience with that. However, I know these are all possible and parts are available although some may be hard to come by. Edited by macuserman, Aug 12 2016, 02:35 PM.

I forgot to add that you also need upgraded Toe Bars. Although surely some of this has been done already if they were using it for rally? Frame Braces Turbine Tech No longer made but you can search for used ones. These are the best/nicest strongest option in my opinion, but will be very hard to find. Cheaper Mac Fabrication Front Brace Cheaper Mac Fabrication Rear Brace Beefier bolt on toe bars. Whiteline Poly Bushings |

Thanks, I'll probably stitch/seam weld as much as possible while I've got it down. I don't think I want to brace the car too much because flex isn't always a bad thing especially on gravel roads (plus, it's already caged). I'll definitely look into boxing the control arms, toe bars and the ball joint mod. |

Deathbird on the Team Swift site sell the rear toe bars. I have a set on mine. Love them. They are T6 alum with heim joints on the ends. |
