i want to buy some nice rims since i got 12 inch tires and want chrome or something. i wonder if rims from other cars would fit so i can get used ones but dont know what size to get and what the bolt patterns are. |

There are rims from other cars that will fit like some Hyundia and Nissan models, but the important thing is proper sizing and fit. For your car, I would go no larger than a 15" rim, but low profile tires are going to cost you more. I suggest getting 13" rims with 175/70R13 tires for stability or get the 155/80R13 tires for fuel economy. Bolt pattern in 4X4 1/2 |

I agree with the 13" suggestion. If you Ebay 13" wheels or rims you will find a quick list of cars that had 13s on them. The only problem is that your speedo. and tach if you have one will be off. |

That would be your best bet. Another possibility with the 13s would be a gauge cluster switch. It looks to me like the 92 and the 97had the same gauge cluster, even though the 97 has 13s. It looks like the gauges can be switched. If you go with 13s you might want to look around a junkyard for a newer cluster and see if it fits. I don't know if it would really work or not, but I switched out my cluster for a tach, and they were easy to remove and put back in. Edited by Will, Sep 19 2008, 10:11 PM.

Changing the tire size will not change the tach. Changing the instrument cluster will not correct for different tire size. To correct speedo for tire size you must change the speedometer drive gear in the transmission. These cars use 4x4.5 or 4x114.3 bolt circle rims. Offset should be about 38mm. Archie |

Soon as I figure out how to put pics on this site as I am new to it haven't looked into. I will show you my metro I've got 14 on it. Looks quite stylish but unfortunatly I think it reduces the mpg a bit but I'm going to try some of the other mods metntioned on the forum to try boosting it back. Hopefully someone could help me with that I'm only getting about 30 city or hwy. I'm gona try some aerodynamic changes first. Any other suggestions I'd great appreciate and take into consideration. |

After reading this thread. http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=40808 I started looking for RX-7 alloy space savers when I am at the junk yards. Hopefully I will have a full set by the time my current tires wear out. |
