Anybody know if these would work on a 4dr 94 Geo metro auto as a swap for 12in stocks?

Superior Slotted Mag wheels 60's era mag wheels in 13" x 5-1/2 wide, 4 lug "Uni-lug" pattern, 4/41/2 bolt pattern from a 4-bolt 60's Mustang?

This is a great thread!

They will bolt up, but they may also be wide and stick out past the fenders depending on the offset.

Has anyone tried the Miata wheels? I believe the bolt pattern is the same and I see them for sale with 195/50/15's.

Please note that this list may include the proper bolt pattern, but the center hub size will vary from vehicle to vehicle, so please check before purchasing.

Just curious. What is our hub size and offset. I am wondering how much those accord rims are going to stick out and if I am going to need hubcentric rings.

Offset is 40 to 45, the wider the wheel, the more critical offset becomes. I've got 15 x 6.5 wheels with 40mm offset on my 98, and I had to roll the inside edge of the fender a bit to keep them from rubbing. A 42 offset would have been perfect. I think a 6 inch width off any front wheel drive car would probably be fine.

Never worried about hubcentric myself, I just give the wheel a wiggle as I slowly snug up the lugnuts.

Can someone explain to me what the letters in wheel sizes mean? OEM size for my '91 hardtop is 4.00B x 12", and I see that the oem 13 inch wheels are 4.50J x 13".

The numbers on the wheels, not tires, (thanx for the info Bogs) refer to the width , style of rim and diameter. In that order.
4.00 = 4 inches wide
B = Rim style B (?)
12 - 12 inches in diameter.

4.50 = 4 1/2 inches in width
J = Rim style J (Most rims are style J)
13 = 13 inches in diameter

4.5 inch wide rims should run a tire that is at least 3.3inches ( 85mm) wide and no more than 6.8 inches (172mm) wide. (25% smaller and 50% wider than the rim itself)
So you see a 145/R13 and 155/R13 fall right in the middle.
A 175/R13 would (technically) be too wide, but I would mount it, and be comfortable with it.
Anything wider and you will see the sidewalls begin to balloon out as you inflate the tire. That is why aftermarket wheels come in such a large variety of sizes and offsets.

I have seen a wide rim with a narrow tire and it was the funniest sight ever. It looked as if someone had run black tape around the middle of the rim.
The tire was stretched to meet the rim edge and the driver was actually using the sidewall as tread. He was very upset when I told him his tires would not pass inspection due to the cord hanging out.

That's interesting... I'm running 185/60R13 tires and fit into OEM rims, which I think are 4.5" of width
and yes, they are too wide but no problem in the last 2 years and a half

:)

Very good info Schultz!

the 185's are (technically) too big, but probably won't hurt anything.
I wouldn't run them on mine, I considered it for a half second and went with the 175's instead.

If you want to upgrade to 13" wheels and do not want to upgrade from 10MM to 12MM studs, you can use these lugnuts from Summit.........

LINK
What makes these nuts different from the stock 10mm ones? If they are different, can I just shop locally for nuts with "Lug Nut Seat Style Conical seat - 60 degree" with an appropriate thread, and get the correct parts?
