My new pre-turbo intake...

Hey guys. I eventually plan on boosting my Metro so one thing i had to do was get a pressure hat for the TBI, so i got one from a guy that has done a bunch for people on teamswift.net. As of right now i am loving it. It looks so much cleaner, plus it is airtight . The only problem with it is that it actually makes the car a little bit slower because i had to put the TBI bridge back on, and it is getting air from a smaller container. That being said, i am done taking it to the strip untill it is boosted, or something signifigant happens.

The intake is very deep and throaty now though.

I am having a custom log style manifold made. There is a guy locally that is going to buy the header when the turbo is done.

I've been working on something similar based on a Saturn air box for normally aspirated Metro TBI. The Saturn has a TBI as well with very close throat diameter so the plastic air box fits the metro TBI and uses cheap filters.

For your your shiny new turbo hat, find 2 long bolts with same thread as "bridge" hold down bolts. Yank the bridge out. Drill 2 holes on top of your new hat over the bridge hold down bolt holes using the bridge as a template. Run your long bolts down from the top of the hat. Done. No restriction.

Then put a second complete g10 drivetrain in the hatchback driving the rear wheels and cover it with speaker boxes. Let'em wonder about your dual exhausts as you leave 'em at the line...

Tonight i took the filter off and just ran straight ram air, and i also reset my ecu (was getting a code 13, causing the car to run rough), and i sure wish i was at the track. It is 40* outside and this thing is loving it. The car ran like a raped ape. When i ran the 18.3 that was with the old ram air, no accessory belt, and around 60*. The way it ran tonight i'd be willing to bet it would have ran at least an 18.0 @ 74. Hell, if i had taken the belt off it might have been faster.

I was spinning 2nd gear for a good bit also. I went driving around just going from 15-75 a bunch of times. I was so ecstatic. I wish i didn't have to work the closing shift Friday otherwise i'd be at the track then.
