I have heard many things about the HHO systems. From what I heard they show promise, but their gains are often less than promised. I suspect this is the case here. First I think the mpgs are not correct. I cannot imagine that the starting mpg was only 30. That is what my wife's Buick gets. If he low-balled the starting mpg it would make the high end look better. He took a picture of the SVT tag on the car but said nothing about it in the description. This would give people the impression that the car was an SVT. SVT is Ford's Special Vehicle Team, and they do not do Festivas or any other mpg car. They are exclusive to the high performance market, most notably the Mustang SVT and the new Shelby GT500 Cobras. Nothing mpg there. I think there is promise to the HHO, but I doubt the gains are that high. It would be neat to see someone on this site build and test it, though... Hint, Hint, Wink Wink, Shrug, Shrug.......... |

I thought about building one myself and read a few guides on the net on how to build your own, but I don't feel that it would be even worth it unless I seen a 10 MPG increase. In reality, a 10 MPG gain from a hydrogen generator would be hard to attain. |

I was born a Ford boy and converted Metro, SVT did do some MPG cars, but never a Fiesta. http://www.svtregistry.com/I believe there is some promise to Hydrogen generators, but not in cars. Too much water vapor to be used in a motor unless you were to ceramic coat all internals somehow. I think hydrogen generators would be a great idea for home heat though, among other things. I have though about using one to "fuel" my wood burner if I could figure out a burner for it, kinda like a propane grill uses or just use one from a grill somehow. Or even use it to heat your water at home, cook, etc. But I think it would cause more harm than good in "today's engines" There would have to be major changes maybe turbine engines could use it. Imagine a Jet powered street legal Metro, now that would be sweet.

There is a guy that is allegedly getting 73 mpg in his C5 Corvette using HHO. Not sure what the long term effects are on the engine though: http://www.gassavers.org/garage/viewgaslog/2310? |
