'00 Metro I want to upgrade to a CD/AM-FM. What's the slickest way to gain access to it's mounts? Looks like a bezel around the radio / ash tray-lighter / cup holder that needs to be removed. Does it just pop off? Tips appreciated!! Edited by daveNfrank, Aug 27 2016, 11:29 AM.

Two screws at the top of the bezel, the heads face down. Two screws hiding behind the ash tray. Follow the cord for the 12v socket and unplug it. Or unclip the gray thing from the back of the socket. The metal top the ash tray slides in will come out with the bezel. After that it's 4 screws, 2 per side, holding in the stereo mounts, and with a factory stereo, possibly one more screw underneath the stereo that you access with a long screwdriver through the ash tray hole. |
