Hey guys I am looking to upgrade my stereo in Mickey. Any ideas or suggested models and brands that have worked for you all? Typical radio, cd, and a flash drive spot would be ideal. Thanks for the wisdom!!!!! Brian in NC

Check the link in my signature, Helpful Stereo Links. There's some ideas for you in there. Also, I've got a Pioneer in my car, that honestly I'm not really in love with. There's nothing wrong with it at all, mind you - I just kind of want something new. So! Anyways. I'd sell it if you're interested. CD, Radio, AUX, USB - which works for flash drives, iPhones/iPods, Androids, and you can charge your phone or whatever from it, too. It's pre-wired for a Metro (well, right now it's in my Swift, but the other harness is intact and ready to go) and it works, I use it daily. Here's the official Pioneer page for it, check out the full specs... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-X2600UI PM me if you're interested. And/or PM me if you don't want it, but have questions about stuff you read in my thread. |

i recommend that you check out radios with a blue tooth option. i'm not sure that i could live without it after using a radio with hands free cell function.

I'm with t3ragtop on the Bluetooth requirement, although I think the audio streaming is the important part. Get one with an external microphone if you want to take hands free calls while driving. The one I have has the mic in the faceplate, I can hear the caller perfectly. They get to hear the sound of a twenty five year old car with no soundproofing and vague mumbling of me talking in the background. Works pretty well if the car is parked or if I shout directly into the radio (good way to cause a pile up driving with your head in the dashboard). |
