So looking at replacing my struts and found a full set front and back of the KYB Excell-G's for about $180, the upper strut mounting kit about $44 a side (front only) and bellow boot and cushion $14.29 a side (front only). Anyone running these on their metro? I've really liked the KYB's on my other rigs, curious what other people are running when your more interested in off-road ride.

really, they are pretty much the preferred replacement struts. ;)

i don't use the bellows though. i prefer to buy the rancho poly-vinyl shock boots and trim them to fit. they provide much better protection and keep out road grime and water to keep the strut shafts cleaner.

plus they come in colors! ;)

use the same boots on the rear struts. i like the less expensive sets that come with zip ties.

they totally keep all the dirt, dust, and splash off the strut shafts. ;)

when i build my strut assemblies i use hard polyurethane as bump stops to replace the foam types they use as oem replacements. i like 80a shore hardness polyurethane as it is extremely rugged and doesn't disintegrate like the foam bump stops. these would work if you doubled them up.

a little harder to find, i typically buy a cast poly cylinder so that i can use a saw to cut it down into custom lengths of about 1".

just got them from RA. front=$34.68ea, rear are $21.77

that's $112.90........shipping not included here since it varies by location, but mine was only +/-$16.

Oh yea, use the 5% discount code, too.

I have them on my 98 along with the Vogtland sport springs. They are lowering springs but not extreme. Them and the kyb struts make tge car handle very well without a bone jarring ride.

Cool! Going to keep stock ride height though, I have lots of snow to deal with in the winter and some of the ruts in the road sometimes will almost scrap bottom getting over them. Really need to get my backhoe put back together and fix my road. Next project before winter, I swear! lol

I have them also and h&r losing springs and it rides just like stock but less body roll and a little lower for a sportier look.
