Adding rear speakers

So, 92 XFI.

Back seat "arm rest" panels, there's all sorts of room behind them. Figured it'd be a great place to fab in some 6x9 speakers.

Has anyone tried this or something close to it? I'm not much of a fabricator, but I'm sure willing to give it a shot if I got some instructions from someone who's tackled it before.

Thanks!

Check my sig for links, I still have a set of 6.5" round adapters, and I'm in driving distance of Kelso (although on a strange schedule just now...

I'm not really sure where those would go? I have no "factory" speaker spots other than the dash. As I understand, this car came from factory completely void of any kind of audio equipment. I would love to find a double DIN install kit where I can utilize a single DIN deck and my single DIN triple gauge bracket. It looks real trick in my Impala, would love to do the same in the Metro.

Thanks for the info!

They go behind the side panels in the rear of the car.

I also have a '92 XFi. the radio was a dealer option therefore the number and location of speakers appears to be different for each car. Mine has the dash speakers but also a set in the rear hatch. I have seen some with the speakers in the side panels as you describe, but mine did not have them there, nor do I have the wires there to add them. I know they can be added there fairly easily but with a hidden sub, the 2 dash speakers and the rear hatch speakers, I feel it's a bit overkll to add the side ones to.

Sounds pretty straight forward. How much and when could I get those?
