Buy 'Em Up! Now!

So I'm noticing that the car when I first start it, revs really high without me stepping on the gas. Then it seems to calm down.

I have the 2001 4Cyl with fuel injection.

It is pretty much normal for the engine to raise the idle to about 2000 rpm when 1st starting it.

How fast are the rpms when it starts?

I don't know. I dont have a tachometer. I just hear it revving and then eventually slowing down. Takes about 3 min maybe

Ok. That sounds like it is working normal. If you want a cheap way to check you rpm's then look into getting one of these. They are pretty accurate.
