So I'm noticing that the car when I first start it, revs really high without me stepping on the gas. Then it seems to calm down. I have the 2001 4Cyl with fuel injection. |

It is pretty much normal for the engine to raise the idle to about 2000 rpm when 1st starting it. How fast are the rpms when it starts? |

I don't know. I dont have a tachometer. I just hear it revving and then eventually slowing down. Takes about 3 min maybe |

Ok. That sounds like it is working normal. If you want a cheap way to check you rpm's then look into getting one of these. They are pretty accurate. http://geometroforum.com/topic/6134884/1/#new |
