hey dose anybody know how many times you can rebuild the same engine? I have a 91 geo metro an have had the motor rebuilt twice , i heard somwhere that you can't rebuild a engine more than twice?? but my block an heads are perfect just was geting tired after three hunderd thousand on it . |

if you do not over bore and or turn the crank too many times you could rebuild indefinitely. but the block, crank, rods, and head do and will eventually wear out. synthetic oil anyone?

Simple answer is it can be rebuilt until it can't be rebuilt successfully any more. If factory specifications for clearances/tolerances can still be achieved and there is no damage, there is no reason it can't be successfully rebuilt multiple times until those specifications can no longer be maintained. And then some if it's not being rebuilt to factory specifications. How exactly are you quantifying and defining "perfect?" How many heads does your engine have? |
