So i have a 1996 Geo Metro Lsi. I have been keeping the fluid levels topped up and have not noticed any major loss of oil or coolant. Well the problem I seem to be experiencing is with my idle. Every time I put my car in park or have been sitting at a redlight for a extended period of time, my RPM's drop and the car shakes for about 3 seconds and then the idle smooths out. I just put in new spark plugs a month ago, I also replaced the valve cover gasket and I have cleaned my EGR valve.

Also when it rains and I run the car, the problem worsens.

I'm not familiar with the Automatic metros but if it's running worse in the rain it could be your plug wires or the coil.

soapy water check for plug wires

Look at your ignition coil. If it's crack/swollen/overly rusty it's time to replace that.

I forgot to mention that the plug wires were replaced about 6 months ago when I bought the car.
