While I had everything torn apart, though I'd clean up the throttle body by soaking in a gallon of carb cleaner overnight. I took off all the sensors, pressure regulator next to injector, injector, everything that had a bolt or screw that would come off. Then my gasket kit came in the mail and it said do not soak the TBI because of seals and bearings. The mechanism seems to work just fine, actually smoother than before. Did I mess something up? |

That's probably a generic warning, but, I would adhere to it. I recently cleaned my throttle body with a parts brush, toothbrush, clean rags, using lacquer thinner with excellent results. I tried mineral spirits/paint thinner which is good for grease, but, the lacquer thinner was much more effective for the baked on carbon. |
