so im not sure how to explain this so ill just jump right in...i have a 93 1.0 geo 2 door it needed some love with drums ball joint oil pan tires (but i got all those done) currently im working on possibly fuel lines exhaust system and a couple holes but any how recently thanks to this snow storm my exhaust system split in 2.. now i knew it is really bad i hav cans over my cc and now an aluminum piece of sheet metal joining the down pipe to th cc (roughly 14'' before th cc) since then i havent had any actual acceleration and i dont know why...it starts up (when cold) with a squeal after 30 sec it stops and revs high with parking brake on after i take it off it kinda calms down and if i push the pedal down in park theres no bogg its instant rev. reverse and its a slow start but after 10km/h it picks up slowly tho. when in drive it rolls forward nicely but boggs and almost dies when pedal is 1/4 down after about 3-7 sec it starts to pick up and after 20km/h its goes fine.. the old man says it sounds to be an ignition problem..

Sounds like you need a new exhaust system. Is this car something you plan on keeping for a while?

Do you have any codes set in the ecm? Is the check engine light on?

make sure your check engine light comes on before you start it up. poor performance could be due to exhaust leak at or near the front O2 sensor. have them check the spark timing and consider plugs and wires.

Squeal on startup is a loose alternator belt. Leaky exhaust can cost you power, but it shouldn't be that much. Try putting it into first instead of drive and shift it manually. You should have the car looked at for structural rust before you put any more money into it. Rusty rockers and floor pans often mean rusty frame horns which often means car is done.
