I'm not a Dodge/Chrysler fan boy but I do think a Hemi has some merit when it comes to power. Yet their MPG's suck. I know there is a trade off between power and gas mileage, though. Hemi rocks in the power department.

This vid shows how an old Hemi is torn down and rebuilt into a treasure. Enjoy.

the new hemi is a POS. I have one in my company provided work truck. It will, barely, pull itself and trailer down the road. Can not even use 6th gear with the trailer on. Hills, yikes!

A couple years ago a guy at work bought a new Dodge truck with a Hemi. He came to work and asked what a Hemi was, so I explained the history a little and the hemisphere heads, bla, bla, bla...
Couple days later he comes in and says he knows what Hemi means, I'm thinking
I just explained it to you a few days ago, then he says Hemi means really bad gas mileage. It was pretty funny.

One of the reasons I like Suzuki Swifts and Geo Metros with the 16V heads is because they also use a true hemispherical head design.

Of course I think Chrysler consumer's best years for buying a car with the 426 Hemi was 1966.. When you could order the engine on most of their mid size cars.. If I had been old enough to drive back then I would have ordered a 4 door Coronet Wagon with wood panel side trim :D
