Engine swap; need help

I have a 1995 geo metro 1.3 auto 3 speed Im buying a 1995 1.0 manual. Can I just swap the block. Is it the same transmission ?

The engine is computer controlled and you will need more than just a different engine to do a swap like that. You would need a donor car and change wiring, ECU, mounts, Axles, etc

You need a 95-97 1.3L for a direct swap.

The auto and manual transmissions will interchange between 1.3 and 1.0. Same fit. If you are thinking that you want to put the 1.0 into the metro that has the 1.3 and auto, I would reconsider. The 1.0 and manual transmission are better than a 1.3 and auto, but that is more work than you might think.

In North America didn't the factory stop offering the 1.0 automatic combination after the 1994 model year

Re read the original post question.. not sure if the swap is from 1.3 auto to 1.0 auto OR from 1.3 auto to 1.3 manual?

Yes 95 and up no 1.0 engines came with auto trans. Only the 4 cylinder had a auto trans.
