We only considered vehicles generations for which a 2005 model or later was built.

Of note, they start with three "American" models, and there are two Suzuki models on the list. Just saying. :-/

The most dangerous cars in America are the ones driven by people who aren't paying attention. ;)

I always thought the Ford Pinto was the worst automobile ever made. Second was the AMC Pacer and Gremlin. Uuuuuuuugly.

A "dangerous" car is solely the product of engineering, testing, maintenance, and physics, and the driver can't make a car something it's not. ;)

A car going through an intersection while the driver is looking down at their phone, sending text messages, isn't any more dangerous than one driven by someone with their eyes and ears on the road? A car driven by someone with a BAC of .20 isn't any more dangerous than one driven by a sober, alert driver?

Correct about the car But the negligent driver could be a safer driver that he isn't :)

I'm not arguing that a driver can create dangerous situations with a relatively "safe" car, or that a driver can cause less unsafe situations with an unsafe car, but regardless the car and the driver themselves are still two separate entities. The article was about the safety of the car with respect to crash testing, not the situations caused with them.

No matter what the driver does, the car itself is no more or less safe because of it. When the time comes that situations that a driver can not control occur and the outcome is largely determined by physics, a less safe car will still be a less safe car. Doesn't matter who is driving it.
