I'm jealous. The insurance cost is the only thing holding my wife and I back right now. I'm 61, she's 59. We'd both like to stop work NOW.
I know what you mean. Between my wife and myself there is over $26,000 paid to Cigna a year to be covered by medical insurance. My wife's job pays for half and mine pays about 75% of the premiums but we still have deductibles, co-pays and $2500 out of pocket each. We'll see how this Medicare thing (that I've been paying into for 50 years) works out.

ken, all i can say is congrats for making it to retirement! :congrats

health insurance is a big consideration these days but as long as your better half has coverage your medicare plus whatever donut hole coverage you buy should be as good as what you had.

"When all my Metro's are 25 years old my car insurance will be cheaper!"

Do you have them on full coverage?

Yes, full coverage all year long, unlimited mileage, Guaranteed Value from Hagerty. Once the cars are twenty five years old the insurance is cheaper. You have to have Two everyday cars in your name that Hagerty will not insure.
I have broad form insurance which insures the license not the car which means I have just liability and self insure for any damage to my car-covers any car I drive and I have 5-my premiums are about 350 dollars a year
