Is this piece available or a alternate I can use? Is it possible to just run a shorter belt directly from the AC to the main pulley? |

Yes its still available. The tensioner pulley assembly is required to make easier, precise adjustments to maintain proper tension for the A/C compressor belt. Example below is for 95 4 or 3 cylinder engines. Same part 95 through 2001 http://m.autozone.com/external-engine/idler-pulley/geo/metro/1995/3-cylinders-6-1-0l-tbi-sohc Edited by suzukitom, Jan 24 2017, 03:35 PM.

I need the bracket as well. Literally flew off the car going down the road.

It is off of a 97 3 banger. Suzukitom's post above says "4 or 3 cylinder engines. Same part 95 through 2001" so.... |

The A/C tensioner idler is the same for all years. The original poster said he has a 2001 Metro which means it should have A/C and power steering. I am a bit puzzled which bracket 'flew off' but I'm guessing its just parts 21-24 in the diagram that you need, and not the entire A/C or P/S bracket (parts 7 and 13) which are bolted to the engine. |

No power steering. It's the bracket that the Idler/Tensioner Pulley was attached to. |

Are you positive it is the same part? Autozone specifically says it will NOT work on a 1997 Geo Metro 3 cyl. I really need this part as well. (Oddly enough mine just flew off one day too.) I need all the hardware. tensioner, bolt(s), nut(s) belt, and whatever else might be there I'm missing. |
