So my new ride has an intermitant crank but no start. This morning i sprayed some staring fluid and tapped lightly on the injector and that seemed to wake it up. Drove 20 miles on the freeway. Then idleing in line for a park it died. Pushed it into a spot couple of taps on the injector fired right up and ran to the parking lot.
I am 1400 miles or so from home. Can you buy a new injector? I am aware of the red locktite on the screws.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

A new one can be bought at autoparts stores but the price is expensive. Would they have it in stock? Doubtfull. Most people get them from ebay. I know that may not help you. Wish you the best at getting it fixed and getting back home.

Any pull a parts around your area?

Thanks freego 😀 Going to new mexico tonight hopefully. Have to look into junk yards. From there i want to go thru colorado to kansas and from kansas back to minnesota on sunday.
Drove 250 miles yesterday with only an initial hicup in the morning.

And if you do find a junkyard as freegeo suggested, keep a second spare injector in the car. ($7 each the last time I looked)

Well after 2 days and a 1000 miles the injector went dead on me saturday night when i arrived in north platte nebraska. Luckily i was only one mile from a parts store, and in a bigger town at a gas station not the side of the road. Also supremely lucky because a guy at the parts store new a mechanic in town with metro's he brought me a used one and helped put it in for 109$ and i was back on the road. Was a pretty hopeless situation being sunday and the soonest i could get the 175$ refurbished one from oreillys was tueseday. Got to buy a mini torch to heat up the screws. Walked all over town looking for butane refills couldnt even find them at walmart ended up getting lucky at a fantasy gifts store. The guy said his injector cover didnt have loctite on the screws so maybe i got a newer used one 😀

Does anyone know if a fuel injector problem would seem like ,a bad valve problem also, like fouling out spark plugs and such ? it turns over but wont start to run , my bro tested compression ,he thinks its bad valve but ,I wish it was more simple than that like fuel injector problem ,seems cheaper problem.

cheaper still would be if your wire was disconnected from your distributer cap-what were the results of the compression test? are you getting spark to the plugs and gas to the TB? any trouble codes?

If it won't start. Check the 3 things it needs. Compression, spark and fuel.

My doctor tells me I need open heart surgery. I keep insisting that I'd rather have a hangnail, but he's having none of it. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with this knee which gives out when I go up stairs, I really wish we could come to a conclusion. :die

A bad fuel injector will act nothing like a burned valve, and neither one will foul spark plugs. Fouling spark plugs is usually worn rings, and very often will begin not starting around this time of year, when the weather gets cooler.

If you do a proper compression test and post the numbers we can help determine if the engine needs a rebuild... :type
