I bought a 1992 vert about a year ago and I'm getting ready to completely restore it. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get parts? I want to redo the interior, top, and much more. Terry |

When you say "completely restore" does that mean like original or do you mean update, customize, or modify what the car needs? That would make a difference on where you would buy your parts. |

I'm going to pull the motor and rebuild it, media blast the body, and have a good paint job put on it. It needs interior work and a top; that is what I was wondering where I could get parts. The motor and mechanical work I can do myself, and I have a great place for the body and paint work. Keeping it original would be cool, but is that even possible as old as it is? I don't plan on deviating to much from the original look.

Sounds like you have a handle on this project. For original new, hard to find parts I like member bbowens on the forum here. Also Ebay, Rockauto, Partsgeek. If you are going to do your convertible top yourself I have seen some nice tops on Ebay. If you are going to have a upholstery shop do it you better check with the shop as some shops don't like to put on brand tops that they are not familiar with. I saw on Ebay original seat fabric for sale. Just read the forum here and you will find everything you need to know about the car. Be careful media blasting the car body as it is possible to warp the metal. I strip my cars with chemical stripper and use a plastic bondo spreader and not a metal putty knife. |

Oooh, personal opinion, the verts are fun and I prefer driving topless ...interior parts are getting rare, as well as trim parts, shipping might get pricey on the larger trim pieces tho...the dash and door panels will swap with any 92-94 2dr. ...as for the top, it's not hard to do it yourself, just a little time consuming to do it right, I have done quite a few and average about 6 hrs. with cleaning and tapping out the top trim screws, suggest stainless steel screws for replacements ...biggest part is to make sure to lay it flat in the sun to warm it up before installing...look into going with canvas instead of vinyl, the vinyl don't seem to last as long and the canvas really looks sharp, but there is a big price difference... good reading: http://geometroforum.com/topic/4149910/1/ |

Dustless blasting is usually less expensive, more environmentally-friendly, and easier on sheet metal than even media blasting. www.dustlessblasting.com |
