Fueling problems

Update: after pulling the fuel take off for the second time and taking all connections off and fuel pump door, all with no signs of blockage or obstruction. I pulled the charcoal canister off and blew a little wd40 and air through all of the inlets then put everything back together. Have filled up twice since then without it "burping" gas out the filler neck or the pump cutting off prematurely. Problem solved, although not 100% sure what fixed it as I tinkered with multiple things at one time. Although the I'm 99% sure it was the charcoal canister, so good call ptcapboy :thumb

Ok so little bit of and update to my situation. After blowing through the charcoal canister I haven't had any gas "burp" out of the filler neck. Havent had any issues since, until the other day.

Went to the gas station filled up, pump cut off, tank was full. Went in side and after coming out I saw a small puddle under the car. Got down and noticed gas was slowly dripping from the vent tube but no where else. Once home and the car set for a little while the drip stopped and didn't drip anymore. Filled up again and same thing happened.

So every time I put a full tank of gas in you can see the edge of the vent tube get wet with gas and slowy drip. It will stop after a little while and won't drip again until another full tank has been put in. I've tried not putting in a full tank and it doesn't leak if not filled all the way up.

So again, any ideas what would cause gas to come out of the vent tube? I've tightend the connection on the vent tube and still drips.

so to be clear on the location of the leak is it right below the filler neck? and you tightened the small rubber hose at this location and it still leaks-assuming I got the location right perhaps the metel vent tube is corroded above where the hose is which could be inspected by taking the filler neck out-I just gained a little experience in this area by helping Sky with her car-details in the "fuel performance" section-

Yes it's leaking right where the metal vent tube and rubber hose for the vent tube meet. There is a small hole on the end of the metal part of the vent tube. Could that small hole be the issue?

I didn't think that would be causing the issue. Maybe if I cut that part of the vent tube off and pushed the rubber hose farther up that would solve the drip?

it's possible-could you push the rubber hose up to cover the hole without cutting it? there also may or not be more holes further up the pipe-taking it off would confirm that though it is rather a PITA-

Chances are, if that spot is rotted through, then everything around it is 90% rotted through.

The rubber hose is already pushed passed the hole on the vent tube covering it. Have taken off the whole filler neck before and that was the only visible hole on the filler neck or vent tube.

if it were me the next thing I would try is to run a little rtv around the top of the hose and the bottom of the metal hose-if that didn't work you'd be out maybe .02 worth of rtv-
