squirtin over the top is a trick to stop those tailgaters too.... I hate when asshats spray up their windows right in front of me... I'm no tailgater, but at speed (any speed) washer fluid spatters my windshield. Only slightly annoying, but it'll make em back off.

Advice for getting on the highway? You do realize a geo will easily reach 100 and most the time getting onto the highway you should be able to reach well into 70 by the merge point. My advice is don't be so scared of your car, it's not going to break if you pony up a bit.

Thanks for the advice! What kind of pin would I need? I'm clueless with cars.

@PTA

Haha.

@MR1

lol

@ZXTjato

Even a 3 cylinder automatic trans? Hell, I'm worried about blowing the engine or something if I rev it up too fast!

You have one rare car.. I've never seen a 1997 3 cylinder automatic with A/C.

refering to the washer nozzle: just a small thin wire or needle to stick in the hole and redirect it lower to the windshield... nothins particular just a tool to move the ball joint nozzle

Yep, sewing supply type straight pin.

That's not a rare combination, it's a combination that didn't exist. After '94, there was no three cylinder automatic.

If you're having that much trouble merging, it's probably not shifting. Try pulling it back into first gear, and shift it yourself. If there's an improvement, then you need new capacitors in the transmission control portion of your PCM. It's an easy fix for someone with electronics experience, find the right guy and it's maybe $50.

A standard sewing needle is the way to go for adjusting the washer nozzles. A pin might be too big.

I actually have a 3 cylinder, unfortunately.

@wizard93

Love it! Haha.
ah ok-cause just like woodie stated I thought 3 cylinder automatics left in the early nineties-perhaps the engine has been swapped out as stated-a way to tell would be to check your numbers though I don't now how to interpet them-other people here do though

I had a 93 with a 3 speed and 3 cyl auto and it actually felt peppier than my 5 speed stick. It had short legs on the highway though and I had to replace the transmission controller. As stated previosly, you may be starting out in 3rd gear which will feel slow and take a long time to get up to speed. You should feel all three gears from a stop and if you put your foot in it while cruising in 3rd, you should feel it kick down in a lower gear.
If not operating correctly its usually because of a bad trans control unit or bad shift solinoid.

Actually, I've found that the car accelerates quickly when the AC is NOT on. Learned that from another thread.

Car is back in the shop as of Thursday; hopefully out today. Exhaust leak and the exhaust started rattling badly. Probably need a new catalytic converter?

When the car is cool get under it and shake the exhaust and listen to it., listen to the rattles. And see if it's the cat that's rattling, or muffler or any other parts. Who knows could be one of the rubber hangers is saggy and letting it bang on the sway bar.
