Hello guys, I'm in need of advisory assistance. I have a 93 geo metro that I'd like to sell or part out, whichever option would bring the most money of course (barring minor differences). I would prefer to sell it as a whole running car, despite it quirks and flaws, because it is a great car, in my opinion. The thing is, everyone locally that I have talked to says the car is too ugly and etc etc etc to get more than 300 or 400 for it, which sucks because I think it's worth around 800. So, I'm down to 3 options, I think: sell the car locally for as much as I can get (I'd probably try for 800 but maybe will only get 400), sell the car on here, or part the car out on here for as much as possible (I have no intention of pricing parts high, but I feel I'd definitely end up with more than 400 for parts fairly priced). It isn't a huge issue to part it out for me, the car is sitting her as it is, and removing parts has never been a difficult thing for me. But, hopefully you guys can steer me in the right direction (see what I did there lol). Thanks Jasecom89 P.S. There may be some of you who recognize me from posts asking for help with work on the car, these issues are not the reason I am selling, but my gf was given a new car and gave me her old one (which has working a/c and heat, my geo didn't), and I no longer have a need for the geo. |

you also have to factor in how you are going to get rid of the carcus after the parts are sold-don't know if metal recyclers will haul it for free or not- |

Well you could always strap it to a trailer and scrap it, or cut fragments off and sell them too as long as they're in good shape, such as frame horns, quarter panels, radiator support frame, wheel wells, you name it you could probably make a dollar on it. |

Not to toot my own horn, but this is how to part out a Metro for maximal profit margin and most of these prices are based on my local junk yard prices: http://geometroforum.com/topic/6098130/1/ I listed it this way on Craigslist & eBay as well. I've been parting it out over the last year. It takes some work keeping the list of parts up to date, responding to emails & getting shipping quotes, but it's been totally worth it. My profit margin so far is over $2,250. I do still have a few items left like the sensor trickers, hood, doors, hatch & a fender. I bought the car for $2,250 in late 2008, so I still broke even 9 years later. I never would have guessed I'd make that much and no guarantee you will too, but I can say without a doubt Metros are worth far more in pieces than they are whole
