1997 Geo Metro LSi So, I bought this car with an aftermarket stereo already installed. It was good enough for a while, but the thing is just a piece of crap. I got a new hand-me-down stereo from my bro and it's barely used. I want to pull the old one out and stick the new one in (assuming that it fits the bracket inside). How do I go about doing that? From what I understand, I pull off that overlaying plastic frame on the front of the instrument panel to expose some screws and remove those, then I go in through the glove box to release the bracket? All of the threads I've found on this have been for older models and I want to be sure that I don't hurt my Geo. Thanks for any help, guys! You can also DM me if it's a bit lengthy or want additional details. - Keep on keepin' on!

it may not have a bracket in back, the aftermarket units in my 2 cars don't-you may try pushing a screwdriver in on each side and see if it has tab which goes in when the screwdriver is inserted and then try pulling out-I would recommend disconnecting the negative battery cable before you start I have popped fuses in the past installing them- |
