I'm looking for some help verifying the correct part numbers for my 99 1.0 three banger before I order.

The back story:
I have experienced an overheat with the aerodynamic potato mobile. The inductions so far are mostly encouraging. No new or unusual noises and no water in the oil.

Not so encouraging is the faint aroma of exhaust in the radiator. God willing and luck holds out it will have been a temporary leak from the combustion chamber to the cooling circuit as the parts got hot while getting to a safe place to pull over.
After refilling the cooling system there were no anomalies and it ran as before the rest of the way home. My hunch is the root cause will have been an after market seal on the thermostat and housing. I am pulling the top end down for a new head gasket and bolts both as exploratory and remediation measure. While I am in there I might as well dump in a new water pump, timing belt, cam and crank seals.

What I have found so far.

Head gasket set: Felpro 9651 PT.
Head bolts: FEL-PRO ES74021.
Water pump: Gates 42212.
Timing Belt: Gates T194.

Thermostat o ring: 1996 Dodge Neon

Cam and crank seals: ?
Exhaust donut ?

Would you guys help me out by checking the accuracy of the part numbers before I order. 99 3 cylinder 5 speed base model hatch back with a twist. The twist being the car has a distributor instead of coil packs. As far as I understand it it should have been a coil pack car.

Your thought and opinions please, and thank you.

The 3 cyl is a distributor, the 16 valve 98 and up 4 cyl is coil packs. I would verify that there really is a need to pull the head off before going through all that work.

Thanks !

I admit being a little bit chicken here. The faint aroma of exhaust in the radiator has me spooked.
I like this car a lot. Its a blast to drive. I'm keeping it in as good a shape as I can for as long as I can.

The only way I'll know for sure if there is any warp is if if I check it all out. I'll also then be satisfied knowing that the good caskets and seals are inside.

I'm going to say it before PTA2PTB reads this.

Leaving the windows down and a deodorant will help a lot if it isn't a good casket seal.

Cam and crank seal - felpro , TCS 45852

As far as the exhaust smell in the coolant. The auto parts store carry a test kit for checking for that. Can't recall the name of it off hand.

I used the dodge neon gasket and haven't had any problems with it. They are not reusable so keep that in mind if you need to change the thermostat in the future. Most rubber seals that the auto parts stores sell are not correct. I bought some oem type rubber seals from rock auto but have not used any yet to see how well it works.

Here's the coolant tester: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/BK_7001006
A compression test also would be a good idea.
