So when I would give it gas it feels like its butt is dragging :-/ so I was gonna change the oil, filter, plugs and wires tomorrow is there anything I should look at? ^o) The car has been GREAT so it dying in the middle of a 3 hour rain storm at 11pm at night I promise I was apologizing too the car and I had my see thru night gown with socks on because was just taking roomate too work car doesn't give me issues she starts right up :metro2 shes a happy car but I also drive her "Like I'm in a contact sport!" the officer told me when he took the time outta his busy day too pull ME over & COMPLETELY fukkin ignored the person driving with NO headlights on and they looked right at him! :smackface :smackface Thanx for your help I have tools I bought a 100 piece toolset at Kmart for a GREAT price because they were closing THAT store :thumb :D & im NOT afraid of my car :drivin

Have to rule out whether the car is dragging.. as in brake caliper stuck, wheel bearing seizing, low tire pressure...does the car coast easily or stop quickly without braking?

If its the engine that is sluggish there could be a lot of potential causes to look into like a plugged fuel filter, low fuel pressure etc..

Right...I knew in my brain there could be alot of stuff going "Wrong" I CANT & WONT complain the car has been GREAT...It had 178K on it now shes at 203K in a little over a year so I have been driving her....ALOT & really NO "issues" that the CAR has had because it dying in the rain storm is MY fault I drove it when I knew that positive battery clamp was breaking. TY I will just take a look at everything :thumb

It feels like its dragging when I'm coasting at about 35 but I also drive the car hard(it doesnt mind) but I also know IF I insist on driving like im in a "Contact Sport" I MUST keep it tuned up which I havent done yet because someone stole all my tools but I'm getting some more and a few more dogs all I have done is change the oil but no tune up in about a year being honest I plan on it on saturday so anything you want me to put my hands on let me know....Should I look all around? I also did the right CV boot it was clicking when turning and leaking oil should I look at THAT again? TY you are awesome :thumb

You can probably start by looking at the tires to see if any are going flat. Then if you have a slightly sloped hill, stop the car, put the transmission in neutral and with your foot off the brake, (stay in the car, lol) see if the car starts rolling on its own. If the car doesn't roll easily, you will need to get a floor jack and check each wheel to find out which ones dont spin freely. (Level ground, jackstands, chock a wheel).

Let us know what you find.

Does it have a manual transmission? Or automatic?

Have you checked your clutch adjustment? My 91 vert was driveable until i pulled the clutch as long as i didn't get on it.

after you drive the car for awhile you can lightly touch each wheel and see if they're hot-I've had a sticky right caliper a couple times and it was hotter than hades compared to the other 3-another symtom was I had to beat the hell out of the tire with the lugnuts off to remove it from the hub or whatever it's fastened to-the heat fused it in place-

right after arriving at a destination, go around and "feel" for heat on each wheel nearer the hub. Start with the ones you do not suspect, but be careful. if it is "dragging brake" it can cause 2nd degree burn in half second.

It would be best to get a non contact infrared thermometer to check the heat difference of the rims and brake components.
