educated me someone!!

overheating!

the pump flow the coolant thru the system regardless the temp. radiator is where the coolant comes from! So, in theory, the coolant will get hot.because "if flows thru the system" and the engine is hot! So aside of a bad thermostat.......if a system over heats.......In theory and in logic....it could be the pump...because the coolant isnt flowing....and has hot boiling coolant in da System!

sigh...my geo metro is overheating! all new sensors, no milky oil or smoke, new thermostat (w/ fail safe) , hoses, cant tell if fan is working or pump

Run the car with the radiator cap off and see if the coolant is flowing to check on pump.

Run the car with the hood up and watch for the fan coming on to check for fan.

Run the vehicle from cold engine. As the engine warms up, are both upper and lower radiator hoses warm? Have you done any maintenance recently to disturb the system?

Water pumps seldom quit working, usually they leak and have to be replaced.

How is the condition of the radiator? Where I live the tap water is very hard. When I was young, I inherited a 1972 Fiat 850 Spider(my 1st car). I didn't know any better and just topped off the radiator with it. The car overheated and blew its top. When I saw the actual coolent passages after words, They were almost completely choked off with deposits.
