Trying To Figure Out This Little Car....
[ * * ]
So, I took of the distributor cap to check the contacts. All good. Put in back on. Replaced the plug wires in the order (that I remember) them being in.
Tried to start the car, but got stumbling and backfire. I figured that I had the order wrong. Moved the wires a place ahead and tried to start car.
Nothing. It's acting as though the battery is dead. I hooked a charger to battery (which reads fully charged, by the way) and tried to start it.

Now I just get rapid clicks????

I am stumped. Any advice?

O.K, folks. I spoke too soon. I am the winner of today's "Dumbass Award".

The problems were simple:

*Wrong firing order.
*Positive terminal was seriously corroded.

I guess that it's best to check the simple things first. Lesson learned... :)

next time a piece of masking tape with the cylinder number written on it placed near the post may avoid potential problems-

I should have followed all of those tips, but I did not. I figured that it was only 4 wires and one of them was obvious.
"I'll remember where they go. It's simple...." o.O
I ended up having #2 and #3 switched.
