Got another Metro . Smokes a little during start up. Previous owner said it uses a little oil. Solid frame.....rare find in Ohio. Will do some diagnostics when time permits. That said currently have a 1997 that runs like a champ. My "new" Metro is a 2000. Both have the 1.3 engine / automatic. IF the 2000 needs extensive motor work, how difficult would a motor swap be? Both vehicles all original wiring harnesses and other OEM items that are unmolested. Thanxs.

A swappable engine would have to be a 98 - 2001 1.3L. You would be better off to use the block and head and put all your original 2000 components on it.

the g13bb engine in your new find has a known issue with the valve seals becoming brittle and shattering. it's a small problem in that it causes the engines to puff a little smoke at start up and between gear changes.

if it were me, i'd probably just drive the car. if it became a real issue, the valve seal replacement isn't a hard job. use felpro replacement seals. ;)

Thanks t3ragtop. Sounds like I've got e-z options here.

i specified felpro valve seals because they are made from high quality viton material which survives the head temps.

actually, the felpro replacements are probably better than the oem suzuki parts group replacements. ;)
