Hello vert owners! B-)

It's still summerlike here on the west coast during the day!

Have you stored your vert yet, or are you still driving it in October?

Nice during the days now that the smoke from all the fires is gone. But damn cold at night.

Hot during the day, would suggest keeping the top on and ac on, night time would be great for a spirited drive top down. If any one wants me to test this driving I'm open to using a vert for testing purpose.

Going Topless here is sometimes a year round event...fall, spring, and winters are best...summers (July-Sept.) are early mornings, evenings, and nights... B-)

i put my summer cars to bed based on historical weather patterns here in ohio. i have mine wrapped up and in storage by october 31 every year. i try to get if covered before i have really cold wind blowing up the crack of my butt and before the first snowfall hits.

sure, we have had nice weather later in the year and last year we had really out of the ordinary warm days in the middle of winter. still, i have my cars safely stored before they lay down the first salt. ;)

Thanks for sharing everyone..

Are you kidding? :ermm: Despite what my thread says (because I'm so very behind on the updates :banghead ), I'm VERY close to getting Topless out for the first time since the repower/rebuild and VERY desperate to do so. :spaz

So no dash, no door panels, no passenger seat, no top and no matter the temp, I'm driving that thing! :nfs
(Of course, it helps that its 75F with no clouds in Birmingham right now and for the next week B-) )

The Calendar may say fall, in Fl we refer to it as the "second summer", still close to 90 here, 75 at night. 80/60 into Nov/Dec is common and really a better time to drive a vert than the summer months. The rain pretty much stops in Oct and is dry until May /June..... So this is the time to be driven a vert here!

October is the best month to drive a convertible in Utah. Mountain/canyon drives with the top down looking at fall leaves changing is the best. Then the top goes up for most of the winter driving. Occasionally November might have a warm spell where the top can come back down.

i have driven many of my suzuki/ geo cars year round. a 3 banger hatchback makes a great winter car. i drove a 91 automatic vert through one of the worst winters ever here and the only time it failed me wasn't the fault of the car. we had a dramatic ice storm followed by plummeting temps. the slush piled up over the tires to the rims on all 4 corners and locked my car in the parking lot at work until temps rose above freezing and i could get loose.

that vert went down frozen snow covered roads like a 3 man luge. never failed to start all winter. the salt/ rust took that car out shortly after the following spring rains.

i have hundreds of hours and and a lot of money into restoring the chassis on my 2 remaining verts and i'd rather not sacrifice them to ohio salt. ;)
