Tops on 'verts in the wintertime, or anytime for that matter, are for sissies. Throw ya a horseblanket over it at night, shake the snow, or morning dew, off it in the morning, and drive it. :metro2 Just ask geo4thewin, he'll tell ya.

i have driven verts in the absolute worst winter weather ohio could blow in and they make good winter cars - except for:

the rear plastic window light cracks and blows out and salt rusts them to nothing in one or two years.

my verts get stored over ohio winters in an attempt to make them last.
