The grounds on this car aren't that "weird".....really the ones that could cause you drivability issues are pretty easy to get at, right on the rear of the throttle body, driver fender wall and top of transmission....I think there is a pcm ground under the dash, but I have never addressed that one myself.

Something I mentioned before, is that a poor ground to the PCM will cause weird problems. You can easily check this out, by creating a good ground to the PCM case using alligator clips, or facsimile. This applies to all PCM controlled vehicles. If this simple test removes the issue(s), then you should make your ground permanent, or search and correct the problem.

So, we have given up trying to fix this car. The issue just kept getting worse and worse - one day it got so bad that it was hesitating every time you accelerated. One time it stalled at a red light, which was embarrassing. It got to a point where it was just dangerous to drive. Which is sad, because we loved this car.

Ended up having to rent a car for a week while shopping for a new one. We now own a 2007 Kia Sportage, which we got for a steal of a deal, so we are happy with it.

Not sure what I'll do with the Geo. I might donate it to the Kidney foundation, sell it for super cheap, or just give it away for free to a good home. It's sad to think that this car might end up in a landfill. It would be great if someone would restore it and keep it on the road. It would make an awesome project car - the body on it is almost perfect, no rust whatsoever. It has a lot of new parts, just in the past 12 months I've replaced the heater core, thermostat, spark plugs, spark plug wires, coil, distributor cap, rotor, and tires. Just the tires were $475, and they have less than a year on them.

You did not mention replacing the fuel injector. A remanufactured one is $33 cdn from Rockauto. Ypu do have to ship them your core afterwards )

Of all the items people spend money on these cars, for some reason hesitate to replace the fuel injector , or have a local fuel injection shop test and clean them (around the same cost).

(I bought my 91sprint turbo from a wrecker after it was donated through the kidney car program. Barely there a day before I had it running again.)
