18 little gremlins holding me back from finishing this Geo!

I'm trying to finish swapping a "new" engine into my friends 97 Geo Metro because his engine threw a rod after 400k miles. The car was delivered to me in pieces so I've put it together as far as I can and there are 18 things left I can't figure out. I was told the engine and transmission are from a 95 Metro. So far the only things I could find different that I swapped from the old engine to the new were the oil pan and front main seal assembly because of the crank position sensor that was added, coolant crossover pipe and a few other small things. Everything bolted straight up. This is what's left..

(Use this link to a picture album for reference)---> https://imgur.com/a/k2N5w

#1 White/Green wire, coming from same loom as battery positive/starter power. Cut, where does it need to go? (No, I can't see where it was cut on the other engine)

#2 Negative battery body/chassis ground location?

#3 Red/white wire from fuse box, cut, green wire tees into it and is run across the core support and is cut near the radiator. Any ideas what they did this for?

#4 Gray two prong connection with red/green and white/blue wires. Located near throttle body and intake manifold. Where does this go?

#5 Four prong connection coming out of firewall loom. Where does this go?

#6 Vacuum line? White circle thing on it. Where does this go to?

#7 Blue two prong connection with red/green and white/blue wires located off firewall. Where does this go?

#8 Two grounds coming out of main engine wiring harness. I think these may go to the alternator?

#9 Fuel or coolant hard connect under throttle body? Where is the line supposed to go?

#10 Fuel or coolant hard connect against firewall. Where is this supposed to connect to?

#11 Vacuum hard connection against firewall. Where does this go?

#12 Vacuum hard connection against firewall. Where does this go?

#13 Two fuel lines capped with bolts. Where are they supposed to go?

#14 Two hard connections underneath intake manifold

#15 Heater core hard connection, where is this supposed to go? There is a hose on the other heater core connection but I can't find where thats supposed to go either.

Underneath car picture
#16 random line with no apparent connections pointed downwards underneath throttle body/intake manifold

#17 Line from coolant crossover pipe, where is this supposed to connect?

#18 Fuel or coolant hard connect. Whats supposed to go on to this?
Thanks for looking!

Someone might have a 97 FSM wiring diagram for the 1.0 engine which should help. The under hood decal should help you with vacuum hose routing.

Here is a link to the Swift wiring diagrams for various years. They were all 4 cylinder engines but many wiring components and wire colors are similar.

Thats one hell of a mess.

#1 is your main power/ignition wire, you can locate the other side of that in the loom running under the drivers fender.

#2 goes to any bolt you want to stick it on, for the engine. It originally went right by the coolant pipe or hose on the transmission closest to the battery box. Someone has replaced the stock wire with an aftermarket which is wayy too long.

#3 im not that sure of

#3.5 Green wire looks like someone ran to bypass somthing, like a headlight relay or for an aftermarket a/c system.

#4 looks like it would go for a vac module on a newer advanced emissions car, without knowing the year of your car im guessing 96+ for that connector to be there.

#5 The 4 prong wire was either a feed for a/c or a power steering system. Im not 100%

$6 is the vac line with filter which goes to the box right under just above your hand in the photo with the nipple on the bottom, thats your Map sensor.

#7 is a connector for an evap purge solenoid for advanced emissions or cali emissions. Most likely not needed on yours.

*8 is the grounds which go on the back of the intake manifold via a 10mm head m6x1.0x25mm bolt.

#9 is a coolant line which runs to the lower part of the throttle body on pass side.

#10 is for vac hose either evap canister, or brake booster.

#11 unused.

#12 is also unused.

#13 is fuel inlet, and return line. The larger is the fuel inlet to the throttle body, the smaller is the return line. someone correct me if thats wrong.

#14 i cant determine from the angle,

#15 is your heater core inlet

#16 I cant tell from angle

#17 is the coolant line that goes to the lower throttlebody

#18 is hanger for the rubber exaust isolator which your missing, attaches to the hanger right in front of the cat

You will need to change a few more things on the 95 engine you are putting in.

Did you change the oil pump so the crank position sensor can be used?

The intake (and throttle body)off the 97 will need to be used.

The thermostat housing off the 97 needs to used. The sensor is different.

The distributor off the 97 needs to be used.

I think that is it.

As far as the wiring and pictures go.

1. There are a couple of possibilities for the white/green wire. There is a 8.0 size wire that goes from the Alternator to the 70 amp fuse. A 5.0 size wire that goes from the Ignition fuse to the junction block.

2. Negative gound terminal - Negative battery post to the trans bolt.

3.Red / white wire goes from A/C fuse in fuse box to Ac 1 and 2 A/C relays. green wire Ted in . You will have to follow it. Not factory.

4. Connector goes to the EVAP canister purge valve. Just below the and to the right of the TPS. It is not in the picture.

5. can't see the wire colors. Might be the Rear O2 sensor connector.

6. Vacuum line that needs to be connected to the MAP sensor. Looks like it needs replaced.

7. Not used

8. Grounds for the PCM. Bolts too the back of the intake below the throttle body.

9. Is a coolant line for the throttle body.

10. Vacuum line rubber hose attaches and goes to the intake. This is for the brake booster.

11. not used

12. not used

13. Fuel lines. Fuel pressure and return.

14. Fuel lines to throttle body.

15. Heater core.

16, 17 and 18. not sure I would have to look at my car in the morning.

I believe for your 97 that #5 is the rear O2 sensor connector

Confirming Scoobs, Freegeo and MR1 Kingsbury identification of #4 and #5

#4 EVAP Canister Purge Valve (White/Blue; Red/Green) 2 pin connector

#5 HO2S 2 Sensor (Lt Green/Black; Yellow; Pink; Black/White) 4 pin connector
