I was looking at some Metro pics today and was wondering why no one has done this. Seems like it would be alot easier than trying it on a normal coupe. Lower the angle on windshield and make a new, fiberglass top for it in a more ideal shape than the box they normally have. I feel this would do much better FE wise than my standard 3 door does. Less frontal, less drag. And if done correctly would look killer, and wouldn't mess with integral strength of original car, except windshield. I am not real good at Photoshop, but I think if I had the car I could build it. I hate drawing on computer programs. And takes me too much time to draw by hand. Before: ![]() After:

I like the idea, but I would be concerned that the A pillars of a vert might be designed to hold the weight of the car in case of a roll over. |

Yeah, a roll bar would be an easy addition though. And I just realized what I drew up looks a lot like a CRX. Maybe graff the back half or a CRX onto it. |

The problem would be headroom...you'd have to lower the seats for sure. Hacksaw. |

New2Metros, I like yours better thanks. Hacksaw, I had thought about that too. Could just sit a lil gangsta style in it. |

Woodman, you have solved all my problems with that one. I am not insane (telling voices in head) who ever built that is. |

naa see in the cases of the headroom prob, you just take the seat out, weld a plate for your back and sit on a pillow

or better yet, instead of welding a plate ans usin a pillow, just put in 5 or six bean bag chairs and hand controls ,you could lay face down and drive, although it may violate an occasional seat belt law... actually modding a vert would be cool and proabably easy to do...ive never seen one cept on the internet,a vert i mean. |
