Howdy all on my 97 hatchback...I have a code 443 that appears every blue moon...sezs (evap emission system purge control valve circuit) I have the factory manual..Haynes and the schematics are in the engine hood ...got new vacuum hoses..where is the vapor canister purge valve/solenoid located??... I bought one at rock auto (purge valve/solenid) I was looking at diagram and I thought it might be up in the engine..would it be located back by the gas tank? I am limited on the amount of work I can do..and would rather fix it myself ,,if at all possible,,hoping it aint the evap cannister vent valve--which would require dropping the gas tank..ick only thing I saw on search http://geometroforum.com/search/?c=1&q=CODE+PO+443&type=post&sort=desc&forum%5B%5D=-1&s_m=9&s_d=7&s_y=2008&e_m=10&e_d=21&e_y=2017 |

The link you provided shows where it is located on the engine. Not hard to swap out if you have a new one. Maybe a couple of bolts and vacuum lines to take off and put back on. |

Before your new one gets there, you should evaluate all electrical lines and all vacuum hoses that are related to that device. the one on my 4/3 (4 cyl. 3 spd auto) will ocassionally click like a lifter and sounds bad, but just doin it's job |
