Ok have a burnt exhaust valve. Since the head is off and torn down waiting on parts is a port and polish worth the time on the g10 head? If anyone has figured it out what is the hp gain from a port and polish? I'm thinking it couldn't touch maybe at most 4-5 hp |

That would be gargantuan, 10%. I'd think more like 1 - 2 hp. Plus, with any airflow modification, the results are small unless EVERYTHING in the airflow path is improved. So air filter, intake piping, throttle body, intake manifold, port and polish head, bigger valves, port match exhaust, exhaust manifold, cat, resonator, muffler, and exhaust piping. Are you sure your rings are good? A head job without rings and hone often ends in tears. |
