DO NOT BUY THE CHEAP FRAM FILTER.
:gp No Fram filters! This is an excellent piece of advice.
I disagree with the part about using a "nicer" Fram filter. They're all Fram, and I'm pretty confident that they all suck.
I'm ok with Purolator, Wix, Bosch, Napa Gold (So, y'know, Wix...) Motorcraft... :hmm
Maybe some others? But no Fram.

They did back a few years ago. I personally before them only used mobile one extended performance which is now annual protection, but after all the testing I've seen people do on the used oil analysis and the filtration, break opens of the filter and such, I will forever use the ultra synthetic until something better comes along. I'd seriously suggest looking into on bobistheoilguy on the info, I wouldn't put it in my car or risk my engines health over a few dollars.

Well that was turning into a blood bath... Anyways, I personally use Mobil one high mileage synthetic in my metro with the Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filter. DO NOT BUY THE CHEAP FRAM FILTER. the ultra synthetic is basically the best filter on the market. Look at Bob is the oil guy forum. Plenty of people doing used oil analysis on this filter. From what I've read it filters 94% at 10 microns 99% at 20 microns which is the best there is. My car uses a quart of oil every 1000 to 1500 miles but I still use synthetic because it's better for the motor, stays cleaner longer, and burns cleaner even though it is being burner. If your car doesn't burn oil then I would suggest Mobil one extended performance which is a 15000 mile oil. I won't buy it because it's $5 more and pointless because my car is using it anyways. Again I think People on here will hate me for saying use the Fram filter, but the ultra synthetic fram filter is honestly the best filter on the market. Research on it before beating me, I won't put anything but close to the best on the metro
I cant get over how great this car runs I have slowed down because my registration is expired lol but still after driving it so hard I guess I didn't "Hurt" it...I wrote down what you said the good news is they built an "OReillys right acroos the street from Autozone how funny but atleast it gives a choice. Thanks for your help :thumb

There's no question that the bottom of the line Fram filter had quality issues about 15 years ago. Not sure if that tarnishes the entire company, or if it's even still true today.
