my bad it just dropped to -39*c
and its now -1.7 *c under my house
gotta make sure that my main waterline don't freeze- or my backup waterline
run the taps, make sure the well pump kicks in
might go under house, and re-route dryer vent hose, and run the dryer (empty, dry heat) just to get it above 0 under there
its a huge area- over 2200 sq ft
my utility bills are gonna be stupid pricey this month
oh, and my bills are going up $10 a month starting jan 1st for a ''carbon levy fee''
I think, if I lived where you do, I'd have me an inground house. Imagine how nice it would be to have it 58F degrees in the house, in the dead of winter, without even turning on the heat. I'd have radiant heating in my slab floor, and a few solar panels along the, modest sized, south-facing, window/roof opening, that I'd use to heat the water that I'd circulate through the slab floor, to heat the place. My heating and cooling energy bills would be almost nill.

"We're going to have a white Christmas; 0 degrees this morning"

Funny you should say that, as, I, too, had 0 degrees, when I awoke this morning; owing more to the fact that I never attended college, than anything to do with the prevailing weather patterns, though. Temperature-wise, I had 17F outside, this morning. And from where I sit, currently adjacent my fireplace, it doesn't require a PHD to know, it's frickin cold outside.

My normal morning routine involves going out on the lower deck to uncover the entrance to the dog's doghouse, then fill up his food dish, and check on his water supply. But, this morning, I just opened the door to the lower deck, just a crack, and threw out a couple handfuls of dry kibble for him, saying, "See ya, wouldn't want'a be'ya." I'm fairly sure I plugged in the electric cord for his electric heating pad, last night? At least I think I did.

The trophy for my "Humanitarian Of The Year" award, is probably still at the engraver's. Probably. Should be seeing it any day now.
