Depending on whether your customer base are mostly GMF members... maybe there is an opportunity to do consolidated shipping of multiple shipments to other affiliated seller locations for regional/local pickup by end customers.. |

FedEx or UPS ground is usually the best option for me. If I don't care if it will arrive I use the post office |

Just my .02ยข... Small stuff USPS flat rate is okay... UPS ground is about the cheapest for larger items, and don't get complaints about item damages... https://www.ups.com/us/en/shipping.page Really large items can be sent by greyhound: "Size: The maximum weight per package is 100 pounds. The maximum dimensions that we can accommodate are 82" L x 47" W x 29" H." http://www.shipgreyhound.com/e/pages/Home.aspx |

Yeah I think the rule is that anything greater than 2lbs should be shipped with USPS if it doesn't fit in a flat rate box. I was looking into Amazon and it appeared that having amazon fulfill the orders is actually cheaper than me sending it to the buyer by quite a bit. |

HORN: Have you tried to set up an account through either carrier? I've been selling on eBay for 4 years now and I am a Registered Business now with the USPS. I have found that the easiest shipper has been the USPS. You can get a scale and create your own label with correct shipping rate through a third party business. IMO the USPS is the FASTEST shipping method and the above quote doesn't really reflect how the mentioned companies operate. I have found that the slowest shipper is UPS then FedEx then USPS. The term snail mail to me now refers to the contract carriers. I process roughly 30-40 boxes monthly through my address My 3 cents. Edited by Swifterthanu, Jan 5 2018, 02:33 PM.

Thanks Swifter. I'm not at that point in terms of negotiating. "So, you want a discount and sell 3 items a month? Get out of here kid." lol. I'm just starting so it will take some time to get lots of product out. I agree with USPS. It's very fast. I'll have to look into setting up an account, but I'm not officially a business yet. I will see what happens. |

When I was in Iraq, I found I could send items back at the much cheaper "Library / media" rate. I would take a box with my books, hard drives, CDs and manuals and just include a few things like brass trinkets I had bought at the Hajji mart. One time, I accidentaly sent an empty 30 rd AR magazine (or "clip" for you non-gun folks!).

I do alot of shipping. USPS is what I use. USPS ships off weight you can mail stuff in your own boxes cheaper then the flat rate most of the times. Most of the time they get the item within a week. |
