The Nissan Cube is probably a good one! These were not very popular because of the odd styling. I will admit that they don't look good too me although I don't absolutely hate them like I did when I first saw one. I heard they sold like 1400 in the last year they were on sale in the US. I swear most of those most have sold at the Nissan dealer in my town as I see these things everywhere. I am sure they can be bought cheap these days. That Pontiac Aztec is the same deal. It didn't sell well because of the strange styling but now has that "ugly cool" thing going on along with being in Breaking Bad. The local radio station has one of these and has had it since new. It is the only white one in town and has a bunch of logos so is great because it stands out like a sore thumb and everyone knows it is the radio station. Another one to look at are slightly older Kias. These things depreciate pretty quickly so you might be able to get a Rio or Forte for that. These are reliable and get good mileage. They used to mainly have timing belts and are an interference engine design so be aware of that. Either get records of a recent change or factor a replacement into the price if it hasn't been done recently. Most of the newer models have gone to chains so that isn't a concern anymore. That blue Mirage looks like a great deal if you can handle some hail damage and go above $4000 a bit. It will be a reliable car with a lot of life in it. That is the same car my girlfriend drives. Pictures lie. I have a feeling that, in person, it looks like the surface of a golfball. Personally, I think about $4k would be a bit more like it, considering its hail damage. And it looks like it may have a cigarette burn hole in the driver's seat. I'm wondering just how long he's been trying to sell it, and if he dropped the price any, in this recent re-listing of it, or if he kept the price the same? |

Yeah, that has been my experience also, especially with craigslist pictures. I first saw it right after it was listed, or at least re-listed, about a month ago doing my daily craigslist "see what's out there reasonably close with a manual transmission" search and I'm pretty sure it was the same price then. I just scrolled past at that time and didn't really notice the hail damage but now zooming into the first picture it is fairly significant on the roof and hood. Good eye on the cigarette burn. I just saw this topic and noticed that Coche Blanco was in North Alabama and the car in North Georgia and figured it may be worth a look. I'm about 3 hours south but usually search Atlanta to keep from getting bored with the measly results around here. -Bucky |

Like Coche said, I, too, appreciate your posting of the link to it. Maybe, after it sits on the market for another month, the seller will get down off his high horse, and drop the price to something a little more appropriate to a car in its condition. |

Yeah, those pics really help it. Once you zoom in it looks pretty bad. Hell of a hail storm. Curious to see how much I could get it for. |

Don't hold your breath. It'll be another month - on the market, before the seller wakes up and faces the reality that he's just not going get that, for something that looks like it does. I contacted him earlier today, and received a somewhat curt reply to my $4k offer for it. Something to the effect of: "KBB value is blah blah blah...could fix all the hail damage for $1200, blah blah blah. Good luck finding a car of this blah blah blah, with this many blah blah blah." So I've turned my sights to these two prospects: https://asheville.craigslist.org/cto/d/2017-mitsubishi-mirage/6438779443.html https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/d/fiat-500e-2015/6432461011.html I'd truly love to have an EV car, but, with a 57 mile commute, sadly, I just don't think the Fiat 500e would get me to a fro each day, if I had to run the heater in the winter, or the air conditioner in the summer. |

I should have added, I’m also down for electric cars at an (obviously) higher price. Not too sure about a fiat though. Are my fears unfounded?? |

How freakin cool would this thing be? If only the price would come down on it a bit. Maybe if it doesn't sell after a while, they'll have a fire sale on it? Pay any more than $7k for it, and you're gettin hosed. I would so drive that to work every day, just to see the looks on people's faces. Spoiler: click to toggle

the Fiat 500 is very small inside. If it meets your space requirements the car might be a good commuter. Many Fiat/Chrysler products aren't exactly known for their reliability |

I would wager that 99% of my driving by trip is under 10 miles, or about 20 round trip. In fact, if I lived in a bike friendly city I would ride a bike to and from work. I'm definitely a prime candidate for an electric car. |

Personally, I think an electric car would be absolutely perfect, for someone like you. Where you've grown up around the spartan accomodations of a Metro, virtually anything of current day standards and accoutrements, would likely meet all your needs and desires, and then some. I know it would mine. "Power what...are you freakin kidding me? You mean I don't have to strain and twist my neck, to see what's behind me when I'm backing up? Air conditioning, what's that? </Amish mode> If only my daily commute weren't quite as far, I'm pretty sure I'd be buying that white Fiat 500e, that I linked to earlier. My GF wants me to buy that orange 2017 Mirage, that I linked to. |

Yep, I've looked at Leafs for a while now but they're out of my budget. |

. I'll do a formal introduction asap but just wanted to give Coche Blanco a heads up on a clean Mirage that's been on craigslist a while in North Georgia. The guy just re-upped the listing yesterday and it seems like a decent deal to me.
