Hey guys, new guy here, been lurking for a while ever since I picked up my 1990 XFI last year and just recently got a 1994 4-door and realized this may be more of a disease than a short-term affliction so I made an account ;) . I'll do a formal introduction asap but just wanted to give Coche Blanco a heads up on a clean Mirage that's been on craigslist a while in North Georgia. The guy just re-upped the listing yesterday and it seems like a decent deal to me.

Hey guys, new guy here
Thanks for that link!

Pictures lie. I have a feeling that, in person, it looks like the surface of a golfball. Personally, I think about $4k would be a bit more like it, considering its hail damage. And it looks like it may have a cigarette burn hole in the driver's seat.

I'm wondering just how long he's been trying to sell it, and if he dropped the price any, in this recent re-listing of it, or if he kept the price the same?
If someone here buys this car, please tell me you'll name it, Edward James Olmos. ;)

Well, its currently deleted from craigslist. I hope Edward James Olmos went to someone worthy. Something about buying one of the most frugal new cars in existence and then having it hail damaged that bad just makes it more alluring. If you can overlook the cosmetics, a three year old car under 30k miles under $5000 is a pretty sweet deal imo.

These might be some sweet deals as well. https://www.copart.com/lotSearchResults/?free=true&query=mitsubishi%20mirage%20hail&page=1

I don't know exactly how you go about buying a salvage title car from an insurance company but it sounds like there is a process and some type of salvage broker may be required to obtain one of these cars.

A low mileage cheap car like this might be a great deal. And then you can work on fixing this purely cosmetic problem slowly or just leave it looking like someone hit it with buckshot!

Don't buy a 4door manual. Those are a pita to sell.

You would think that when grading that 2015 black Mirage that after about 40 pink circles it would be understandable to just put a big ole "X" or somethings and call it "golf-balled", maybe just like shade in the area :lol Poor guy that did the grading probably saw pink circles in his sleep...

I thought all the pink crayon marks were pretty funny as well. I hope that is something that can just be washed off!
