I'm going to replace the passenger side drive axle/cv assembly. I do not know which transaxle is on my car. M42, M58 or is it the MV2? Where will I find the ID for the correct drive axle?

Is there an identification section in the fsm somewhere? I looked at some axles online but was a little perplexed that there was so many transmission options.
I just assumed 89-94 3 cylinder was the same.
95-2001 3 cylinder same
and 4 cylinder 96-2001 same
also swift gt the same.

I have not found any RPO codes in the FSM. Mostly it is described as final drive ratio's. You find the RPO codes show up mostly in the parts catalog. The Micro fiche I have for parts shows what all the codes are and gives a description of what they are. For a 91 xfi the trans code shows a MV2.

The MV2s were in the Sprints. When they went to Metros they upgraded them a bit and its an MV3.
