I wanting to swap the engine in a 99 swift to a 3 cyl from a 91 both are 5 spd manual I have both complete cars hoping I can just change the ecm but wonder of fuel pressure and who knows what . Hope this is suitable for this subject . |

That would be a big project...if your donor was a 96+ it would be a lot easier...91 wiring and PCM are mounted under the dash on the opposite side, the wiring is not the same, best bet would to get a wiring harness and ecm from a 96+ along with the intake and sensors...the drivetrain/axles are going to be a problem even though they are both 5 speeds, the 91 axles will not fit the 99 chassis and the 1.3 setup will not work with the 1.0...but everything can be fabricated with time and money...take a lot of pics of your progress...

Thank You for the input I was concerned about this ,I will just keep looking for a rust free older one . If anyone wants a 99 Swift 4 cyl 5spd in really nice condition blown head gasket and needs a rad it is advertised in Victoria B.C. on Victoria used .com . For $350 cdn .
