:rocker :type :beer I am pulling the engine for a rebuild. The ac to my knowledge has not worked in years. What would it cost labor and materials to have someone do this now while the engine is out and everything is accessable? Any guesses? It says 34 on the compressor. I am thinking about tearing it all out. :P

I like to have the engine in and running when I diagnose A/C problems. I would just install the compressor, condenser, and lines correctly when the engine goes back in and then troubleshoot the system when the engine is back in and running.

What is it doing or not doing? I'm about to do my 97 while the motor is out. Parts and materials will be roughly $400 but I'm replacing it all. I'm also doing the work myself. But you should have the car in running condition to properly diagnose it versus throwing parts at it. If you have a shop do it I recommend one the deals 9nly with a.c. repairs
