Hi.....So I live in Vegas & the devil is trying too kill us all with this terrible heat so I broke my A/C switch it just moves with NO tension so fan doesn't come on......is there anyway too bypass the switch? The A/C works best at night its just too hot here & my windows aren't tinted yet(Cant wait till they are) but it wont work if the fan wont come on......Can I pull the face off & fix it or o I need to take the radio out and let everything fall down so I can fix the switch? TY in advance

The switch is not for the A/C, it is for the fan speed. Read through the link provided. http://geometroforum.com/topic/4541259/1/ |

the a/c switch is a square button, the blower fan 3-position switch above it needs to be at least in position 1 for a/c to work. if the square button is broken i think you may connect the 2 wires plugged into it temporarily to complete the a/c button circuit. Edit: connect pink/black to blue/white wires if you are sure the a/c button switch is broken. Edited by suzukitom, Jun 25 2018, 12:00 AM.

Welcome back. We've missed you. There is at least some access to that switch by dumping the glove box on the floor and reaching around the dash parts. start by squeezing the switchbox and seeing if the fan comes on an off... If it does, then you are good for the zip tie fix. Though you may want to open the switch up to reposition the silver ball for the fan switch detents. |

Yep, welcome back PrettyG, you have been missed. Man, looking at that old thread by StiffC, several members like Bbent and Bogs and others I miss seeing on here. Yeah, I used that fix on my DD 2 years ago and fan speed switch still working great. |
